RapSteady

RapSteady is a Hip Hop game that was created for rappers to develop their skills in a gamified way.

It promotes fast thinking and challenges players to think on their feet either playing by themselves or with others.

With over 800 words and 12 backing tracks the combinations are endless, giving the game a long playability life without getting boring.

I noticed there were no rap games or tools created to help rappers hone their craft. So I aimed to fill the gap in the market.  Players have 15 seconds to settle in and listen to the beat of the randomly generated track before the first word appears, then they’re prompted to freestyle with each new word that appears 15 seconds at a time.  RapSteady embraces a type of play based not having a win or lose system, while being able to enjoy the game in private or with a group of people. The enjoyment comes out of self betterment and becoming more confident in your skills (like karaoke). It embraces a forgiving game design for a pretty tense premise.
